Andy Murray is 66/1 from 33/1 to win the US Open, according to Ladbrokes.
The injured-plagued Scot was dumped out of the Cincinnati Mastera 6-1 6-2 by Marcos Baghdatis and is currently friendless in the market.
Ladbrokes spokesman, Nick Weinberg, said: "We can't give Murray away at the moment. We drifted him out to 33/1 prior to his defeat against Baghdatis.
"But his performance looks to have put off potential supporters and we've responded by knocking him out to 66/1. "Murray likes the surface but his lack of court time coupled with injury problems means he's up against it."
But the layers think sooner or later the youngster will deliver at one of the big tournaments and go 4/6 that he claims at least one Grand Slam in his career.
Weinberg added: "Murray's talent isn't in doubt. Once he gets over his injuries we're confident he can challenge the game's elite."
Roger Federer currently heads the US Open betting at Ladbrokes at 1/2 with Rafael Nadal 4/1 and Federer's recent conqueror Novak Djokovic third best and a 6/1 chance.
