Dave John and Dave Tindall came up trumps for bettingzone fans with 25/1 and 16/1 winners for Super Bowl and the Northern Trust Open respectively at the weekend.
John, our American football expert, had the foresight to tip New Orleans Saints at 25/1 to win Super Bowl before the season started.
He wrote: "If the defence does manage to step up, then the Saints could be a seriously strong contender as they already possess the league's most potent offence behind quarterback Drew Brees.
They play four matches before their bye week and three of those four games are against potentially very beatable opposition.
A quick start for this group could set the tone for the season and they could easily look much better than 25/1 chances."
As it was the Saints won their opening four matches and capped off a brilliant season with a 31-17 victory - with John again backing them with a 5.5-point start - over favourites Indianapolis Colts in Sunday's Super Bowl.
While John was celebrating his 25/1 coup, his colleague and namesake Tindall was also a happy man after Steve Stricker delivered the goods for him.
In his preview of the Northern Trust Open, our US golf guru wrote: "One interesting little pattern in Stricker's form is how well he does after two weeks off - the position he finds himself in again here.
Stricker won at Colonial last year after a fortnight's break and repeated the trick when winning the John Deere Classic after another nice rest.
The two-week break theory played out again in this event last year when he finished second so, refreshed after another 14-day gap, Stricker should be in perfect shape to try and post a fourth win in just 14 starts."
With Simon Holt delivering a 10/1 winner in Saturday's big race, Ian Millward's Super League double coming in and David Gee's opening Six Nations tip bang on the money, it was a great weekend for bettingzone fans.
