Picture Semi Tadulala set Bradford on their way.

SAINTS' 1/100 BACKERS STUNNED

Sky Bet's Odds Compare All Prices

Bradford Bulls staged one of the most unlikely comebacks in Super League history as they defeated St Helens 34-30 at the GPW Recruitment Stadium on Friday night.

The depleted visitors, who were handed a 22-pt start on the handicap before the game, took advantage of a sloppy start by Saints to rack up an early 10-0 lead thanks to two quickfire tries from winger Semi Tadulala.

The Bulls suffered a blow as they lost influential back-row forward David Solomona to a shoulder injury midway through the first half and the home side took full advantage with three tries in six minutes around the half-hour mark from Ade Gardner, Francis Meli and Leon Pryce.

When Meli crossed for his second try just before the half-time hooter, Saints looked in control of the game, leading 26-10 at the break and being traded around the 1.02 mark on Betfair.

Craig Kopzcak powered over for the Bulls 10 minutes into the second half but when Sean Long crossed for Saints soon after, a tired-looking Bradford were being matched as long as 110 to turn the game around.

But punters who had backed Saints to the tune of £10,000 at 1.01 were sweating as Sam Burgess and Michael Worrincy got the Bulls back into the game with converted tries to see the underdogs close to within two points just after the hour mark.

And when Worrincy crossed again to give Bradford a four-point cushion with 12 minutes remaining the two sides were vying for favouritism on the exchange.

In a frantic climax to the game the Bulls eventually held on to triumph 34-30 and give the last laugh to the Saints layers who had opposed the minor premiers to the tune of over £25,000 at 1.05 or shorter.

Saints' defeat would normally have led to a hasty revision of the outright Super League prices but their four-point lead at the top remains intact because reigning champions Leeds slumped to a second successive shock home defeat.

A vibrant and spirited Harlequins outfit did the damage 21-4 with two tries in the opening 14 minutes from centre David Howell and hooker Chad Randall setting up the victory.

Sky Bet's outright prices to finish top of the pile in the regular season are 4/11 Saints, 3/1 Leeds and 20/1 bar.
