NEOPOLITANS TASTE GOOD

By Derek Allen

There’s a fascinating fight coming up on the Sky Player toda, when Napoli take on Inter Milan at the Stadio San Paolo – and we're backing the home side to come out on top here.

If you’re the shy, retiring type, such advice might have you biting your nails, but look beyond the headlines and the statistics speak for themselves.

Napoli might have gone down last weekend at Udinese, but prior to that one, they hadn’t lost in 16 games. The hosts are also unbeaten at home of course, where they have conceded just seven times all season, so they are a force to be reckoned with on their own patch for sure.

Inter pitch up on the back of a disappointing 1-1 draw with Parma, and have impending Champions League commitments to worry about of course, which may mean they could take their eye off the ball here.

Indeed, Jose Mourinho has even gone to the trouble of naming his team well in advance, so we know Samuel Eto’o is out for example, resting in advance of Inter’s showdown with Chelsea.

The visitors haven’t lost in 12 outings now, but have been defeated here 1-0 in their last three head-to-heads with Napoli, so it could be unlucky 13 for the Special One – try plumping for the Partenopei at 2/1 with Sky Bet.

The other match-up on the Player today features the tussle between Juventus and Genoa, a fixture that’s must-win material for the hosts after a couple of lacklustre draws against ordinary opponents in the shape of Lazio and Livorno.

That pair of results has seen Juventus continue to slip down the Serie A table at an alarming rate of knots, which is no laughing matter here, because Genoa are in decent form, and could cause the Bianconeri a headache or two in Turin.

The visitors haven’t lost in four games now, and although they were thrashed 4-1 in this corresponding fixture last term, plenty has clearly changed since then – expect a tight affair, and back the stalemate, a result Sky Bet chalk up at 9/4.
