Rory McIlroy is vying for favouritism in the Race To Dubai market after his flying finish in the HSBC Champions tournament in Shanghai.
The youngster carded a stunning nine-under-par round of 63 to vault up the leaderboard and take fourth place.
World number two Phil Mickelson survived a nervous final hole to edge out South Africa's Ernie Els by one shot for the title but McIlroy, Martin Kaymer and Lee Westwood all boosted their Race To Dubai claims.
Kaymer finished in a tie for sixth with world number one Tiger Woods while Westwood was just a shot further back in a share for eighth.
It's Westwood who just shades the standings of 2,404,579 Euros still but it's incredibly close, with McIlroy just 50,000 Euros behind and Kaymer another 20,000 Euros back.
The latest betting sees Westwood a top-priced 15/8 with Stan James, followed by McIlroy on 9/4 (Boylesports) and Kaymer at 7/2. It's 8/1 bar the leading trio.
