Manchester United v Fulham
United booked their place in the quarter-finals of the Champions League on Wednesday night with a thumping 4-0 victory over AC Milan at Old Trafford that saw them cut to a best of 4/1 to rule Europe. It's back to domestic matters this weekend, though, as they welcome Fulham to M16 looking for a sixth successive home victory in the Premier League. That run has also included six successive clean sheets and United have looked back to their impenetrable best with Nemanja Vidic and Rio Ferdinand back in harness and Edwin van der Sar between the posts. Of course, the Cottagers ran out comfortable 3-0 winners in the reverse fixture in the lead-up to Christmas but it's worth remembering United had four of their regular back five missing that day - and a central-defensive partnership of midfielders Michael Carrick and Darren Fletcher. The United side they'll face on Sunday will be plenty different from that as quotes of 15/1 on an away win suggest. Fulham head north after successive 0-0 draws on the domestic front and looking to reverse a run of six straight defeats at Old Trafford (the last two without scoring). Their most recent outing, of course, ended in a 3-1 defeat in Juventus on Thursday night but their goal came via a wicked deflection and the result merely underlined the fact they're not the best of travellers. Indeed since the opening day of the Premier League season they've only beaten Basle and Accrington on the road which won't fill them with great confidence heading to Old Trafford. With them having back-to-back 0-0s and United on the back of six home clean sheets it all points to a home win to nil. It's not a fancy price, granted, but could easily be shorter than 10/11 (indeed it's 8/13 elsewhere) so we'll have a dabble.
Verdict: Man Utd 3 Fulham 0
Sunderland v Manchester City
Sunderland ended their lengthy wait for a Premier League victory with a thumping 4-0 win over Bolton on Tuesday that carried them six points clear of the drop-zone and up into 13th in the table. That was their first top-flight triumph in 15 attempts dating back to November 21 and their first home win in any competition since they beat non-league Barrow on opening weekend of 2010. That will have put them in good heart ahead of the visit of Manchester City, as will a second successive clean sheet at the Stadium of Light. City for their part arrive well rested after a weekend off and no doubt buoyant themselves after that 4-2 victory over title hopefuls Chelsea last time out. That snapped a winless away run against top-flight opposition that stretched back to December (when they beat Wolves), though they have beaten Middlesbrough and Scunthorpe on their travels in the interim. Despite their inactivity last weekend they became favourites in the race for a top-four spot with Liverpool beaten by Wigan and Roberto Mancini will be keen for his men to maintain the momentum they started by winning at Stamford Bridge. The Blues have won the last nine against Sunderland and the last four up in the North East and though the Black Cats do have those two successive clean sheets, City are a step up from a fatigued Fulham and Bolton. Mancini's men are odds-on to win with Ladbrokes but there's plenty of 6/5 available and we'll take that.
Verdict: Sunderland 1 Manchester City 2
