FIXED ODDS
2pts Spurs v Fulham to draw at 3/1 (Sky Bet). A low-scoring affair is on the cards and the Cottagers can snatch a point.
2pts Dirk Kuyt to score first v Wolves at 11/2 (Paddy Power). Dutchman scored twice against Spurs and can strike again at Wolves.

Bolton v Burnley - 2000 GMT

A spicy Lancashire derby on the cards with the Clarets travelling to the Reebok for a quick renewal with former boss Owen Coyle. The latter endured a tough start at the helm with back-to-back defeats to Arsenal in the Premier League, but felt that his side had done better than the scorelines had suggested. His claims were justified as they put up a solid display in the second half to get the better of Sheffield United, progress in the FA Cup and give Coyle a first win. Burnley's new boss Brian Laws is still looking for his since taking over at Turf Moor after away losses at Manchester United and now Reading in the Cup. No wins, one draw and 10 defeats away from home is the most pressing issue Laws must address and another setback could already put him under some pressure before he has chance to play a game in front of the faithful. He should have some options up front with Martin Paterson, Steven Fletcher and David Nugent at his disposal but no clean sheets since October 31 means his frontline are consistently behind the eight ball. These two shared a 1-1 draw on Boxing Day but you feel the momentum is very much with the home side. The incentive for them is to go above Burnley and they should justify quotes of 4/5 to achieve that goal.

Verdict: Bolton 2 Burnley 0 (DJ)

Portsmouth v West Ham - 1945 GMT

Events off the field continue to provide a huge distraction for all concerned at Fratton Park but the players knuckled down with a battling performance to beat Sunderland in the FA Cup on Saturday. This will be their first Premier League outing of the New Year and they find themselves four points adrift of second bottom Bolton and although they have games in hand, picking up points on a regular basis is not going to be easy. The visitors were comfortable winners over Pompey at Upton Park on Boxing Day and have finally got some respite from their own boardroom issues with the arrival of new owners David Sullivan and David Gold. They have already made a statement of intent by trying to lure Ruud van Nistelrooy to the club - okay, it failed - but they seem clear on building some upward momentum on the back of a an excellent away point at Aston Villa which hauled them out of the bottom three. If push comes to shove, then we would just favour the Hammers but 15/8 is on the tight side for a team that hardly screams consistency. A watching brief is the best course of action.

Verdict: Portsmouth 0 West Ham 1 (DJ)

Tottenham v Fulham - 1945 GMT

Spurs have yet to win a game in 2010 and their 2-0 defeat to Liverpool following a 0-0 draw at home to Hull has rather hindered their push for fourth place at the moment. They still hold the box seat though on goal difference although the likes of Merseysiders, Manchester City and Aston Villa are circling just behind. An inability to kill off Leeds in the FA Cup means a costly replay at Elland Road and an extra match for Harry Redknapp to plan for. Fulham have not been in great form themselves but did manage a return to winning ways on a gruelling pitch at Accrington Stanley in the Cup. Roy Hodgson is still short of some of his first-team regulars and a gap of six points has now opened up between his side and Birmingham in eighth place. Neither side standout as obvious winners and the outcome of five of the last eight between the two has ended with honours even. A low-scoring draw looks on the cards and the 3/1 dangled by Sky Bet on the stalemate gets the vote.

Verdict: Tottenham 1 Fulham 1 (DJ)

Wolverhampton v Liverpool - 1945 GMT

The last time these two sides met was at Anfield on Boxing Day, with Liverpool claiming a 2-0 against a Wolves side who were reduced to 10 men when Stephen Ward was sent off. The goal scorers for that game - Steven Gerrard and Yossi Benayoun - have since been out of the squad due to injury, though the Reds skipper is reportedly in with a chance of featuring in the Premier League clash after recovering from a hamstring injury. If Liverpool manage to take three-points from Mick McCarthy's men they will take fourth place providing Tottenham fail to win their match against Fulham. Wolverhampton are battling it out at the other end of the table to keep out of the relegation zone. A home defeat against the Reds could result in Wolves dropping to 18th place, thought this will only happen if Bolton achieve three-points in their game against Burnley. With 18 points separating them it looks like it should be an easy win for Liverpool, who have picked up 10 points from their last four games as they put their energy into trying to secure a place in next season's Champions League. However, having key players Fernando Torres (striker) and Glen Johnson (defender) definitely out due to injury, Wolves could take advantage of a current weakened squad. The hosts are going into the game on the back of salvaging a draw against Crystal Palace to earn them an FA Cup fourth-round replay but although McCarthy made seven changes for that match, Liverpool will be slightly fresher having already been knocked out of the competition. Rafael Benitez's men have only lost one of their last eight games on their travels in all competitions and with Wolves only keeping three clean sheets during their league campaign so far we're confident it will be an away win, which is a best of 8/11 with a number of bookies. The 2-0 victory Tottenham last week saw Dirk Kuyt increase his goal tally to 48 for the club and no doubt he will be hoping to reach the 50-goal target during this game, so a 11/2 bet at Paddy Power for the Dutchman to score first looks very tempting.

Verdict: Wolverhampton 0 Liverpool 3 (DA)
