Fulham v Blackburn
November hasn't been an easy month for Fulham. Since they beat Liverpool 3-1 at Craven Cottage on October 31 they have had three tough away trips at Roma, Wigan and Birmingham, without influential stars Danny Murphy and Andy Johnson. Unsurprisingly given their less than convincing away form, they are winless for the month. Both Murphy and Johnson could return for the game with Blackburn, though, and back in familiar surroundings, Fulham are a cracking bet at 11/10 against a team who looked dreadful on their travels until Saturday. Rovers lost their first five away games of the campaign, conceding 18 goals along the way. They picked themselves up for the local derby at Bolton at the weekend, and perhaps inspired by Sam Allardyce's absence they recorded a deserved 2-0 win. Neil McDonald will take charge again on Wednesday but his task is a difficult one against a team who regularly produce the goods at home. Only Arsenal and Chelsea have returned from Craven Cottage with a win this season, with Liverpool, Hull and Everton all tasting defeat. Basle also lost there in the Europa League, while Roma needed a last-minute equaliser. Blackburn have a good record at Fulham - they haven't lost there for four years - but I think Roy Hodgson's team can bounce back from their tough away run on Wednesday and land the odds.
Verdict: Fulham 2 Blackburn 0
Hull v Everton
Everton are really struggling with form and injuries and I can't agree with the bookies who price them up as clear favourites for this one. Phil Neville, Phil Jagielka, Mikel Arteta, Victor Anichebe, James Vaughan and Leon Osman are all out through injury and David Moyes' squad simply isn't deep enough to cope with such a lengthy list. They've won just once in their last nine games and though that was an excellent victory at West Ham they just aren't consistent enough to carry my money at present. Hull are hardly lighting up the Premier League and their away form has been dreadful, but at least they are fighting at home and that spirit will stand them in good stead on Wednesday. They have only lost twice in seven games at home and recent performances offer hope in their battle against relegation. Their 2-1 win over Stoke was particularly impressive and there was a lot to like about the way they battled back from 2-0 down to draw 3-3 with West Ham last time. On a line through West Ham you might fancy Everton but such collateral thinking rarely works in football betting. A fully-firing Everton would be my pick as they clearly have a more talented squad when everyone is fit, but given their current plight I think this will be tight. It was 2-2 between the two teams at the KC Stadium last season and you can get 16/1 about that correct score again, but we'll resist the tempting odds and just back the draw at 12/5.
Verdict: Hull 2 Everton 2
